ForeFlight, A Boeing Company and a leading provider of flight planning and navigation software, has updated its Apple Watch app with a number of new features and enhancements. The updated app is now available to all ForeFlight subscription tiers.
One of the new features in the ForeFlight Apple Watch app is the ability to add local weather and wind as a complication on the watch face. This allows pilots to quickly and easily view current flight conditions without having to open the app. The complication also provides information about nearby airports.
Another new feature is the upgraded synthetic vision, which now includes 3D representations of obstacles and hazards with nighttime illumination. This makes it easier for pilots to visualize their surroundings and avoid potential hazards.
ForeFlight Pro Plus subscribers and higher tiers also get new terrain and obstacle strike location display options in the profile view. The previous red hatch shading over the remaining route has been removed, and distinct red X markers are now used to identify multiple strike locations.
Furthermore, the latest update expands the utility of ForeFlight’s Runway Analysis feature, making it compatible with aircraft like the Textron King Air 350ER, Cessna CJ1+, and Cessna C700. Runway Analysis is available for ForeFlight Performance subscribers, catering to both individuals and businesses. ForeFlight intends to continually expand the range of aircraft that are compatible with this Runway Analysis feature.
In the previous update, ForeFlight made substantial safety-focused additions, including features like ADS-B Traffic Breadcrumbs, real-time Baro-Corrected Pressure Altitude, and Aircraft on Runway Alerts. This demonstrates ForeFlight’s commitment to improving safety and enhancing the user experience.
Finally, the latest update expands the utility of ForeFlight’s Runway Analysis feature, making it compatible with a wider range of aircraft. Runway Analysis is available for ForeFlight Performance subscribers, and ForeFlight plans to continue expanding the list of compatible aircraft.
